The opportunity To supervise the daily operations of the payroll department, leading the team to ensure the timely and accurate processing of employee payments, whilst also ensuring compliance with taxation, superannuation, and employment laws. Key activities of the role are to: - Oversee the payroll team
- Monitor and manage payroll data and ensure the accuracy of payroll records
- High volume Payroll processing, 1000+ employees per fortnight
- Payroll queries
- Payroll journals
- End of month processing including the payment of all associated payroll liabilities
- Lodgement of returns/surveys as required
- Payroll policies and procedures regularly review and updated as required.
- Provide a high level of customer service to relevant payroll queries/improvement opportunities
- Engaging with multiple senior stakeholders, regulators & relevant authorities
- Provide support to the whole of Allambi on Payroll related matters.
- Conduct regular internal audits of sample Payroll records
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Training payroll staff, as required
Essential Criteria: - At least 5 years of Payroll experience and/or Certificate IV qualification in relevant discipline or equivalent
- Working knowledge and background to multiple awards (SCHADs award preferred, but not essential) and workers compensation processing.
- Working knowledge of Dayforce and/or WFM systems experience is preferred, however not essential
- End to end payroll experience ideally within a NFP or community sector.
- Well-developed customer service and communications skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change in a growing organisation
- Intermediate to advanced - Microsoft Excel skills
- Attention to detail
- The ability to both coach and mentor operations/other staff
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and be able to work with minimal supervision
