Applications close COB Friday 11th April 2025 Allambi Care are seeking expressions of interest for the position of People support and Culture Officer, in our Lake Macquarie based office. Position Objective To support Allambi Care department in a range of areas including workforce planning, ER/IR, recruitment, induction, onboarding and exit processes, learning and development, performance and management. Main Duties and Responsibilities General - Provide day-to-day support to the NSW operations management team.
- Work as part of a larger People, Support & Culture team to provide to provide organisational supports, including but not limited to - recruitment, selection and onboarding; staff support, rosters support, probation management, training and development, electronic personnel file management, audits, staff coaching, performance management and disciplinary matters.
- Attend all Operation’s and PSC meetings to provide updates on People, Support and Culture matters including recruitment, staffing challenges and any other relevant items
- Provide advice and information to management and employees regarding Allambi Care (AC) policy and procedure, code-of-conduct and current industrial legislation including employment law, equal opportunity, anti-discrimination and occupational health and safety.
- Oversee exit interviews and provide feedback to PSC Leadership team and management team by collating data and identifying patterns and trends.
- Conduct appropriate fact-finding and information gathering around any employee related matters as required.
- Assist in developing and updating policies, systems and procedures in relation to human resource management, industrial relations, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and Risk Management, ensuring workplace adherence and providing advice to management regarding compliance
- Attend to enquiries regarding award interpretation and provide advice to employees and management
- Conduct any of the duties listed in the position description as and when required in support of AC NSW Operations and PSC Management
Recruitment/Selection/Onboarding - Coordinate the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding of all support worker positions in consultation with the PSC Officer, PSC Manager and Operations Manager
- Provide day-to-day support to the PSC Recruitment Officer in all aspects of the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding process of support workers including but not limited to pre-employment and probity checks, interviews, candidate assessment, appointments
- Assess and determine eligibility of casual-to-permanent support worker transitions, coordinate contracts and the change-in-position process
- Utilising recruitment software to Recruit, select and onboard office-based positions as and when required in consultation with the PSC Manager, PSC Director and Operations Manager
- Report on Recruitment and retention rates.
- Liaise with Training team for any information, improvements and changes required for the induction process.
Stress and Staff Support - Coordinate and oversee frontline support worker follow-up and support in consultation with Operations management
- Review staff supervision and stress assessments and provide advice and support in resolving staffing matters
- Support the Senior Operations management team with all staff follow-up support as and when required
- Conduct formal debriefing sessions for employees when required
Rostering Support and Leave - Oversee, support and resolve, staff rostering and availability issues, and any other relevant rostering matters that arise
- Support Rosters with reviewing leave applications, assessing individual leave levels within teams taking into account the wider impacts on operations
- Approve or decline leave requests and support Rosters in managing any associated conversations and follow up’s with staff as required
- Provide advice and support as and when required to Rosters Team and Senior Operations management in staff allocations, award interpretation and award compliance
Performance Management, Grievances and Complaints - Review staff feedback and provide support to management with any staffing matters as required
- Conduct, facilitate and perform coaching, performance management and disciplinary meetings while ensuring relevant legislation is adhered to
- Provide support, advice and guidance to management with regards to employee poor performance, disciplinary matters and staff grievances ensuring best practice is adhered to and relevant industrial relations legislation is followed
- Investigate, conduct and resolve workplace grievances in line with AC policy and procedures and relevant legislation
- Provide support and guidance plus respond when required to external complaint matters in line with AC policy and procedure
Staff Probations - Contribute to staff probation process ensuring a fair and equitable process
- Support management in providing probation-related advice and guidance in line with relevant industrial legislation and AC policy and procedure
- Conduct probation reviews as and when required
Training and Development - Recommend staff for completion of Allambi Care core trainings (NBRF AND TCI)
- Oversee and support staff training and development as and when required
Additional administrative duties - Utilise Microsoft office applications – word processing, spreadsheet, internet, emailing, Outlook, Teams, One Drive
- Generate and maintain employee files as and when required
- Electronic and hard copy filing of confidential and/or sensitive information
- Take minutes at meetings as required by the People, Support and Culture Manager and People, Support and Culture Director
- Utilise Rostering Software Program (EmpLive)
- Perform data entry ensuring accuracy and conciseness in Human Resources Information System (Chris21)

- Attend any relevant weekly meetings
- Attend relevant training sessions as required/directed
- Provide supervision to allocated staff members as required
- Exercise integrity and ensure confidentiality of all matters is maintained
- Provide support to Allambi Care’s People, Support and Culture team as directed by the People, Support and Culture Manager and/or the People Support and Culture Director regarding any matters, duties, responsibilities and/or generalised support required

Skills and Experience Essential Criteria - Tertiary qualification in Business majoring in Human Resources & Industrial relations and/or equivalent
- Experience within a human resource environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment to effectively plan and organise the service delivery requirements of a changing client base
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organisational skills and an ability prioritise work tasks
- Demonstrated ability to work in an environment which is frequently changing and has high client expectations and competing priorities
- Ability to work to a deadline
- Demonstrated high level computer literacy
- Well-developed communication skills (written, verbal and listening) including high level telephone techniques in order to liaise effectively with staff and clients.
